The employment rate for Fountain Clinic patients has dropped to 51%. That is a 6% decrease since 2007. The other 49% are retired, disabled or unemployed or are children.
The average monthly income for a Fountain Clinic patient in a family of three is $1085.
In 2008, more than $460,000 in prescriptions were given to patients at no cost to them by using donations made to the Clinic, Sr. Millage Prescription Program, PIN program, samples, and grants we received from W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Blue Cross/Blue Shield and the Michigan Department of Community Health.
Approximately $24,000 in wages were saved last year using volunteers at the Fountain Clinic to help answer phones & make appointments, assist in mailings, greet patients, copy forms or just assist in anything that needed to be done.
The Fountain Clinic has staff that is trained to enroll children 19 & younger in the State of Michigan’s MI Child/Healthy Kids insurance program and also the Plan First program for adult women.
